Last month, Democrat Congressman John Murtha caused a stir with his call for a pullout of US forces in Iraq – coming in the middle of a war of words over the issue.Mr Cheney responded by saying: “The suggestion that’s been made by some US senators that the president of the United States or any member of this administration purposely misled the American people on pre-war intelligence is one of the most dishonest and reprehensible charges ever aired in this city.
“The president and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone – but we’re not going to sit by and let them rewrite history.
Heaven forbid…after all, Cheney re-wrote history himself, and he’s damned if he’s going to let anyone else have a crack at it. I mean, where do these guys get off? The whole ‘misleading the people’ thing? What was all that WMD stuff about, then? Oh, let me guess…that’ll be the leftist liberal media making up lies so that terrorists can kill innocent people more effectively. Because obviously the liberal media will sell better in a political climate with more dead people in it…
Losing their backbone…more like finding their guts, Cheney. Anyone got the time to research which war-opposing politicians in the USA *don’t* own shares in oil-business companies, infra-structure redevelopment companies, or military-industrial-complex companies? Didn’t think so…I don’t have the time to waste on stating the obvious either. *If* the God that Bush and Cheney (et al) claim to believe in *does* exist, I hope He is setting up a special level of Hell just for them. And (*if He exists as well*) Allah should be on the guestlist.
