Eastercon Saturday: BSFA Novel Award taster reading and more

Managed to actually get up early enough to force coffee down my neck and head to the BSFA novel award taster reading panel …

That’s the lovely Farah Mendlesohn, reading from James Morrow’s The Last Witchfinder; she also read from M. John Harrison’s Nova Swing in his absence.

Here’s Jon Courtenay Grimwood reading from End of the World Blues (which sounds much funnier when read aloud, as it happens); sat next to him is Roger Levy, who read from Icarus (which is bloody excellent, and you should read immediately).

Votes have to be in by 6pm, and the award ceremony is later this evening - more photos to follow. So long as I don’t get sidetracked again, of course …
