Bored of typing in the postcodes of vague acquaintances on the off chance of seeing high definition pictures of their driveway? Yeah, Google Earth; great gimmick but gets a little dull after a while (at least until you get involved with the data overlay mashups, but that’s another story entirely).

So, why not Google your way around some totally new turf…the Red Planet itself! Yes folks, Google Mars is here. How have we managed this long without it? And in case you weren’t aware, there’s been a Google Moon for some time already. Which planet next? Hey, that new Venus probe is sure to be taking a fair few pictures and scans…
