Kurt Vonnegut RIP
Via the Interaction Forum comes sad news – Kurt Vonnegut dead at 84.
Edit: predictably enough, the blogosphere (sf-nal and otherwise) is heaving with tributes. I liked David Louis Edelman’s look at Vonnegut’s work and the effect it had on him as a young reader, and Chris Roberson posted up some sound writing advice from Vonnegut. Yet another author who I’ve failed to fully appreciate before he passed away, it seems. Selah.

I was so sad to find out!
There are more authors in my top ten list that have died than are alive now.
I thought you might like this article (if you haven’t read it already) from Wired about how writers and moviemakers avoid the term “Science Fiction”

Same here, Paul. I’ve only read excerpts of his work, but he’s on my to-read list now.

Only read one book and it is slightly sad that it takes a man’s death for me to read more but that’s not such a bad thing really.
