Clearly John Gray has never read anything by George Monbiot, which would be strange as he’s both a champion of the environmentalist movement, and writes for the Observer’s sister paper. On the other hand, smears of grassroots green/leftist movement in the Observer are not very strange at all…

He does tar them all with the same brush somewhat, doesn’t he? But I think it’s the primitivists he’s aiming for, and on that level I think he has a point.
