Does our planet harbour as yet undiscovered lifeforms based on silicon instead of carbon? It’s an old (and somewhat cranky) idea, but some respected astronomer dude is writing a book about the possibility of it being true.

I was really surprised to discover there wasn’t and science fiction or fantasy carnival already. I was sure someone else would have got there before me.
I look forward to seeing your submission. I’m hoping to make this a regular thing if I can build up enough interest.
