Swansong for space elevators?

Posted by Paul Raven @ 16-04-2007 in Uncategorized

I sincerely hope this turns out to be unnecessary concern, but Colony Worlds suggests that Liftport, one of the leading space elevator companies, may be forced to shut down after losing their office space. The official Liftport staff blog indicates that times are tough, but therer’s no definite word either way as of yet. I’m not ashamed to say that I’d be gutted to see Liftport fold - in a world where so many are busy staring at their feet, those guys have the guts to look up at the stars. Best wishes, Liftport.

Flawed feeds

It has been pointed out to me that my feeds are not showing complete posts; this is not intentional on my part, but apparently is intentional on the part of the Wordpress development people.

I have unearthed a hack that should put things back to the (very satisfactory) way they were before, but I’ll have to wait until I get home to actually sort it out. In the meantime, thanks for your patience; regular service will be resumed as soon as is practicably possible.

The end result of this fact is that I can’t actually submit any bookmarks this evening, let alone hope they’ll get dumped here later, so we can only hope that I’ll be able to do some sort of marathon upload tomorrow (because I have spare time coming out of my arse, you know).
