Foucault‘s History of Sexuality Volume 1 because when you see a book of that repute for the equivalent of a couple of Euro, you might as well add it to the stash on the off-chance you’ll decide to read it one day.

Gould‘s Leonardo’s Mountain of Clams and the Diet of Worms because I’ve been wanting to read some Gould for a while, but he’s somewhat out of fashion and therefore not cheap to acquire. Plus who could resist a title like that?

And John Crowley‘s Endless Things because, as someone (maybe Henry Farrell? ETA: yes, it was Henry Farrell) said in their appreciation of the recently deceased Crowley’s oeuvre, he’s also very hard to find in print affordably, so when you see a book by him for sale, you buy it, whether to read it yourself or gift it to someone else. That scarcity is the reason I’ve yet to read his beloved Little, Big, but I did stumble some years ago across the first book of the cycle of which Endless Things is the last, and loved it to bits, so I grabbed this against the day I find the others.
