A double-drop catch-up from the accessions department.
First batch were bought last weekend. WicDiv #3 because I’ve started and feel I want to continue; the Rian Hughes because I bought XX some time last year in hardback and the sheer mass of the thing keeps putting me off starting it, so figured maybe The Black Locomotive might be a less intimidating entrée… plus, y’know, infrastructure fiction!
Second batch came by mail yesterday, along with L____’s seasonal gift (not included here on the offchance she actually reads this website). High White Notes is a critical look at the highs and lows of Hunter Thompson’s writing; Wild Thought is a new(ish) translation of Claude Levi-Strauss’s most famous anthropological book.
Off to Stockholm with L____ shortly for a two-day festival of fuzz and doom rock, as you do. Remains to be seen how the journey may be effected by electricity shortages and country-wide failures of the railway comms system, both of which are things in the mix this week, apparently.
