Slowly catching up on the news, after having been even further out of the loop than usual thanks to three days at a workshop as part of the INSPIRI project.

A few days of even greater withdrawal has the perhaps predictable effect of making the absurdity ever more apparent, in particular with regard to the hysteria and cognitive dissonance surrounding Those Two Letters.

I’m not sure I entirely agree with the rest of his analysis, but Dave Karpf makes a pithy point:

Rationalism is to Silicon Valley what Scientology is to Hollywood.

Which reminds me of Dale Carrico’s line from back in the day: “Transhumanism wants to be Scientology when it grows up.”

Looks like they got their wish, eh?
